Review by hotel critic
During my recent stay at the Thoresby in Scarborough, I had the pleasure of savoring a culinary experience that beautifully mirrored the diversity found in African cuisine. The hotel’s strategic location, just a short stroll away from a vibrant array of cafes and restaurants, offered a fantastic opportunity to explore flavors from Indian to Italian. I particularly enjoyed a delightful meal at the Cowshed, where the ambiance reminded me of the warmth often found in my homeland. The restaurant’s cozy setting provided a perfect backdrop to relish thoughtfully curated dishes. The chef’s creative interpretations of classic recipes were commendable, showcasing a commitment to culinary innovation. The presence of a breakfast bar at the Toast Box added a familiar touch—allowing me to indulge in leisurely mornings without the constraints of set meal times. With each visit, I felt welcomed by friendly staff, who facilitated my stay effortlessly. The Thoresby’s proximity to local dining establishments, coupled with the hotel’s own offerings, made for a memorable experience. As a wildlife conservationist, I can appreciate the dedication to local businesses. I look forward to returning for another gastronomic adventure.
